Dr Sabina Obermeder

Dr Sabina Obermeder obtained her medical degree from Flinders University in South Australia and after stints in rural and remote medical locations around Australia; she joined Waramanga Medical Centre in 2002. She is involved in the teaching or our registrars.

 

Dr Lisa Watson  

MBBS FACRRM Dip Obs (adv) RANZCOG (UK) Dip MLT

Dr Lisa Watson has a special interest in skin cancer and skin cancer surgery. She has been providing holisitic general practice care for entire families in rural NSW for over 30 years and has recently relocated to Canberra.

 

DR LISA WATSON IS ON LONG SERVICE LEAVE UNTIL OCTOBER 2017.

 

 

Dr Christopher Ayres

MBchB,FRACGP,MRCGP(Uni of Birmingham)

Dr Chris obtained his medical degree from University of Birmigham Medical School UK.
He has been a Doctor since 2005. Prior to moving to Australia , in 2011, he worked as a GP in rural Shropshire.

He has been working in Canberra since 2012,and joined the Practice in January 2016.

He has an interest in preventative health and evidence based medicine and teaching. In particular, Chris ejoys the variety of work in General Practice and believes in developing the doctor-patient relationship to aid improving overall health.He is happy to see patients of all ages and conditions. Currently he is working Monday - Thursday and one Saturday per month.
 

 

Dr Muhammad Faraz --PRACTICE PRINCIPAL

MBBS,FACRRM,FCPS 1, PLAB-1, FRACP Part 1,AMC Clinicals,AMC

Dr Faraz obtained his degree at University of Punjab, Pakistan.

He has 9 years of wide range work experience in the Australian Public health system and 3 years GP experience in Australia. He has moved to Canberra from the South Coast with his young family. He is the current practice principal and is involved in teaching of our registrars.

Dr Faraz will be working Monday - Friday and one Saturday per month.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr Louise Kenyon

MBBS BSc(Med) MMed (Clin Epi)

Louise completed her undergraduate degree at the University of NSW and worked at Gosford, St Vincent's (Sydney), Westmead Children's and Wagga Wagga hospitals during her junior doctor training. In combination with a Masters of Medicine at Sydney University she then worked at the National Prescribing Service creating educational activities for doctors and pharmacists. During this time she maintained her clinical skills in the St Vincent's emergency department. She then had a break from work while concentrating on having a family. Louise started in general practice in 2010 and works part-time. Louise has interests in health promotion and prevention of chronic disease.  Louise loves to see all ages and types of people.

 

 

Dr Susan Douglas  

MD CCFP FACRRM

Sue is a Canadian GP who started at Waramanga Medical Centre in September 2008. Sue worked as a GP obstetrician in Canada and has extensive experience in newborn care. Her clinical interests are varied and include women's health, paediatrics, mental health and international health care. Sue is also a senior lecturer in General Practice at the Australian National University and has been involved in medical education for 20 years. She is also involved in raising awareness of the difficulties International Medical Graduates (IMG's) encounter in Australia.

 

DR HEIDI HE

Please welcome our new Doctor.

Dr He graduated with a Batchelor of Medicine and Batchelor of Surgery from ANU Canberra in 2011. Dr He has been very busy academically , she also holds a Batchelor of Science in Urban and Regional Planning and a Master of Science in Geographical Information Systems. Dr He has lived in Canberra for 14 years and is married with two children. She loves playing volleyball and has set her sights on running a marathon one day.

Dr He will be working 9-5 on Wednesdays , 1.30-5.30 Friday and 1 Saturday per month.

NURSE PRACITIONER

  Lynne Day RN NP

Lynne is a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner. She specialises in health and care promotion for seniors.  After training and working at St. Vincent's Hospital ( Sydney) she worked across a variety of nursing areas prior to working solely with older adults in Residential Aged Care, Community Aged Care, ACAT and teaching Aged Care. She has a Grad.Dip. In Gerontological Nursing and Master of Nursing Science ( Nurse Practitioner). Navigating through the aged care systems can be challenging, she can help you and your family along this journey, while ensuring your health maintains your independence and wellbeing. Ring Waramanga for a booking at her Wednesday pm clinic or arrange a home visit by calling on 0404799069. You don't have to be a patient of the GPs at Waramanga to visit the Aged Health and Care clinic.'

Eric is our resident podiatrist. He is available on Tuesday and Friday afternoons by appointment. He accepts outside referrals, EPC care forms and DVA card holders.
